Postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks from a university/institution established by law or recognised by the Government of India.

B.Ed. or B.P.Ed. from an NCTE-recognised programme.
Experience
At least 4 years' teaching experience as Lecturer or Assistant Teacher in higher classes (Classes 9–12) in a Central/State-government-recognised institution, or at least 4 years as Headmaster of a Junior High School — duly attested at the competent level.
Gender / school-category rule
Male candidates are not eligible for appointment in girls' institutions. Female candidates are eligible for both boys' and girls' categories but must choose only one category in the application.
Age: Minimum 30 years · maximum 62 years — as on 01 July 2026.
One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory before applying; the application must be filled in English. Keep 3 copies of the final submitted form — 2 are needed with documents at the interview.
The institution-wise vacancy list is Annexure-2 of the advertisement; per the Hon'ble High Court order (Special Appeal 376/2026) the 2019-20 and 2021-22 requisitions are also included. Vacancy numbers may increase or decrease.
The official written-exam syllabus (English) is on the UPESSC site — 12 units, Part-1/2/3 = 30/30/60 questions.
